Privacy policy
The short version: this is a simple information website. We don't ask you for personal information and we don't sell data. We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site.
Who we are
This website is run by Gappy LLC, a software company based in Chicago, Illinois ("Gappy", "we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you visit it.
Information we collect
The site has no forms, accounts or sign-ups, so we don't collect names, emails or other details from you directly.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record basic technical information when pages load, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used only to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google LLC. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine), your general location (city or country), and your device, browser and operating system. We see this only as aggregated reports, not as information that identifies you.
Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy, described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't combine analytics data with other information about you.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics from collecting data on any site. The site works the same either way.
Third-party services
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. Google's handling of that request is covered by its own privacy policy. Links to other websites are governed by those sites' policies, not this one.
Sharing
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. Apart from the analytics and font services described above, we only share technical data if the law requires it.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
